Stress Release in 10 Seconds Or Less

Life coaches, yogis, and Buddhists are among the happiest people in the world. They have figured something out that most of us have not. Thankfully, they are more than willing to share the wisdom they’ve acquired!

You must have heard this a million times before, but it is very true that the secret to living well and being healthy is to be able to generate your own happiness. If you are happy you generate less of the stress hormone cortisol, so you are more grounded and less anxious.

But how do you get there? What if you need to get there fast, like when you are just about to meet someone for the first time and you really want to make a great impression?

You’re in luck, because there is a very simple way. In a word, you need to find a “pleasure.”

Now, now, not in a dirty way! Let’s keep our minds on track here. When we say pleasure we are talking about taking pleasure in the moment you are in. This is also called mindfulness, and it releases a flood of endorphins as soon as you begin to pay attention.

Here is the quickest way to relieve your stress in less than 10 seconds.

  1. Stop what you are doing and stand or sit still.
  2. Notice what kind of fabrics are touching your body, what kind of noises you hear, and whether the air is warm or cool.
  3. Now seek something pleasurable in that moment.

Is it the fact that you are a lovely temperature? Do you hear birds singing? Can you hear laughter, or smell something faintly sweet? Do you have a full belly, or are you looking forward a wonderful meal in a little while? Can you remind yourself of a loved ones hugs and kisses?

We guarantee that you can find something pleasurable in the moment you are in. Even if it is just the anticipation of seeing someone smile at you before the day is done.

The glorious truth is that when you seek pleasure, you find it, and all of a sudden the world will seem more manageable.
